  • Has Lexus really created a fully-functional hoverboard?

For the past six months or so, people of a certain age have undoubtedly been asking themselves one question: it's 2015, so where's my hoverboard already? If a press release we've been sent is to be believed, the answer may well lie in Lexus' R&D department. The luxury arm of Toyota has apparently been working with experts in super-conductive technology to create one of the most advanced hoverboards the world has ever seen. The concept is the fourth project in the company's Amazing in Motion campaign, demonstrating its commitment to pursuing new possibilities in advanced design and technology. "At Lexus...

  • Lexus launches LF-SA concept at Geneva: it’s small

Lexus arrived at the Geneva Auto Show with a number of cars. For the most part they're what you'd expect from Toyota's luxury division, except for the LF-SA. It's small, very small. According to Lexus, that doesn't really matter though. The LF-SA concept, it says, is a driver-focused vehicle, and "the real driving experience will remain the ultimate luxury". Interestingly for a high-minded concept, the LF-SA doesn't seem to have too many autonomous features. According to Lexus, that was a deliberate choice. The Japanese car maker claims that the LF-SA "explores a future in which Lexus drivers will still be...

  • Lexus’ electric E-Four system set to revolutionise all-wheel drive vehicles

It's no secret that Lexus is about to bless the world with yet another crossover. In a corner of the market laden with quality offerings and a set of standard genre rules, the best softroaders often boast that one killer feature, differentiating them from the cookie-cutter rest. Four-wheel drive is customary in the sector, and nowadays on road and supercars too, but it often systems employ the same philosophy -- use the engine's power, a few differentials, and distribute the power between the wheels evenly or when necessary. But Lexus has taken the best of both petrol and electric cars...

  • The Lexus RC F looks like it wants take your wallet by force [Gallery]

This may just be the angriest-looking car to debut this year. It's the Lexus RC F and it's been unveiled ahead of the North American International Auto Show, taking place in Detroit from early next week. According to an official press release from Toyota's luxury division, the RC F coupe -- based on the RC coupe that was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show last November -- is "styled to support the most powerful V8 performance car ever developed by Lexus". To our minds though, it looks like it was styled to support the habits of an underworld kingpin. Seriously,...

  • Lexus teases new ‘F’ model ahead of Detroit motor show

We know that Toyota's luxury division Lexus will launch a new "F" model at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Unfortunately the nature of Lexus' press release around the launch means we don't know much else. Indeed, all the release really tells us is that Lexus' PR division is really good at marketing hyperbole. Take a look at an extract from the release: Engineered from scratch, one performance layer at a time, the newest F model promises a bold, gritty, experience synonymous with the famed Lexus F heritage. In case you're wondering, that's a heritage that stretches...
